Are you a compassionate, resident-centered Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) who enjoys helping older adults improve function, safety, and independence?

Above All Talent Solutions is conducting a search for a full-time COTA to join a collaborative rehabilitation team serving adult and geriatric residents in a skilled nursing, long-term care, and post-acute rehabilitation setting.

 Position overview

In this role, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to carry out delegated components of individualized occupational therapy plans of care. You will help residents build or maintain the skills needed for activities of daily living, mobility, safety, and meaningful daily routines.

You will collaborate closely with Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, nursing, providers, residents, and families to support positive clinical outcomes and quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Implement delegated occupational therapy interventions and components of established plans of care for adult and geriatric residents with physical, cognitive, and functional limitations in a skilled nursing and long-term care setting, under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
• Provide hands-on therapeutic interventions, including ADL training, therapeutic activities, functional mobility support, positioning, and adaptive-equipment training, in collaboration with nursing, PT, SLP, and medical staff.
• Complete timely, accurate treatment documentation, daily notes, progress updates, and resident-response records in accordance with facility policy, payer requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
• Communicate resident observations, progress, and clinical concerns to the supervising Occupational Therapist and interdisciplinary care team.
• Educate residents, families, and staff on adaptive techniques, safety measures, positioning, and adaptive-equipment use to support safe participation in daily activities.
• Participate in care conferences, quality-improvement initiatives, and program-development activities to support strong clinical and operational outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Current, unrestricted Kansas Occupational Therapy Assistant license, or eligibility to obtain Kansas licensure before the start date.
• New graduates are encouraged to apply; relevant clinical fieldwork or prior experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, post-acute rehabilitation, inpatient rehabilitation, or acute care is a plus.
• Excellent communication, documentation, organization, and interdisciplinary-collaboration skills.
• A compassionate, resident-centered, outcomes-focused approach to care.
