Collections Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and professional Third-Party Collections Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing overdue accounts, negotiating payment arrangements, and maintaining positive relationships with clients while ensuring compliance with all applicable collection laws and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Contact consumers by phone, email, and written correspondence regarding outstanding accounts.
• Negotiate payment arrangements and resolve delinquent accounts.
• Document all customer interactions accurately in the collections management system.
• Research account discrepancies and work toward timely resolutions.
• Skip trace accounts when necessary to locate updated customer information.
• Maintain compliance with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and all state and federal regulations.
• Meet or exceed daily, weekly, and monthly performance goals.
• Maintain confidentiality of customer information.
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to resolve complex accounts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous third-party collections experience preferred.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Excellent customer service and conflict resolution abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and data entry.
• Ability to multitask and manage a high-volume workload.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Reliable attendance and a professional attitude.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of FDCPA regulations.
• Experience using collections software or CRM systems.
