This position is for a Survey Crew Chief to work in our South Bend, IN office.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- In charge of the daily activities of field Survey crew
- In charge of daily crew operations such as construction staking, subdivision staking, boundary and topographic surveys
- Prepares daily field notes on projects
- Performs minor calculations in the field for staking
- Performs daily data uploads and downloads
- Maintains survey equipment and vehicles
- Provide direction to survey technicians
- Perform quality control
- May require travel and overnight stay. Daily per diem provided for lodging and meals
Qualifications & Skills:
- 5 years of survey experience
- Experience with Topcon equipment with magnet field software a plus
- Ability to perform data collector calculations
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans
- Ability to work independently
- Organizational skills in order to plan, schedule work and complete assignments within established timeframes
- Capable of working with a multidisciplinary team of planners, engineers, surveyors, architects and technicians
