Position Summary

Under the direction of the Associate Vice President, Development, the Project Management Associate’s primary responsibility is to implement and coordinate a broad range of real estate development and related activities for various affordable housing and community development projects. A primary function of this position is to assist in obtaining high-level financing and serve as a liaison for the company in its project-specific dealings with various public and private financial institutions.

Qualifications:

Equivalent Education, Experiences, Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • A graduate degree in a related field or a bachelor’s degree and three years relevant experience in urban planning, housing development, real estate development, business, finance or a related field.
  • Knowledge of local, state and federal housing financing programs, including Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), Tax-Exempt Bond financing, and assorted programs administered by local and state agencies such as HCD, HCID, LACDA, etc.
  • Proficiency with computer programs and spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and legal real estate documents.
  • Strong math and analytical abilities. Ability to conduct financial analysis and prepare budgets. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in an organized, efficient and timely manner and successfully meet project deadlines. Excellent organizational, time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and clear writing ability.
  • Self-starter, able to take initiative, and work well under pressure.
  • Ability to initiate and maintain effective, cooperative working relationships with colleagues, consultants, and development team members.
  • Ability to travel within Abode Communities’ service area.

 

Compensation and Benefits

Offers are commensurate with the education and experience of the finalist. Additionally, a full benefits package is offered which includes health, dental and vision insurance, life, AD&D and long-term disability insurance, 401K plan, paid vacation and sick leave benefits.
