What are the responsibilities and job description for the Personal Care Aide 3pm-11pm and 11pm-7am Shift, Part Time & Full time & Per Diem position at Abode Care of Allentown?
JOB PURPOSE: Provides basic care needs of the residents including assisting with ADL’s, conducting activities, assisting at mealtimes and, if applicable, assisting residents with medication.
Willing to train to Medication Technician. Higher pay rate and you earn a certificate for future endeavors.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Must posses the ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Previous experience working with older adults preferred. PA: Must be 18 years of age or older unless they are on the PA nurse aide registry; must have a high school diploma, GED diploma or have an active status on the PA nurse aide registry. DE: Must be 18 years of age or older. MD: Must be 18 years of age or older; or 21 years of age if not supervised by someone who is at least 21 years of age. Must be able to successfully complete required medication training as required by state regulations and facility policy. Must relate well to employees, residents and visitors.
Assists residents in all activities of daily living and independent activities of daily living according to the Support/Service Plan.
Observes residents and reports changes in condition to the appropriate supervisor or staff.
Communicates and documents services provided to the resident.
Recommends changes in the appropriate sections of the resident’s support/service plan.
Provides supervision of medications and treatments in compliance with federal, state, and local laws and with the facility policies and procedures as instructed.
Performs basic care procedures to include catheter, temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, height and weight, specimen collections, colostomy care, oxygen maintenance, and other special care.
Assists with transportation of residents to outside appointments and shopping and accompanies resident as assigned.
Initiates and completes appropriate resident activities. Informs residents of activities, encourages participation and provides transportation for such activities.
Maintains a safe work environment and exhibits safe work practices.
May assist with mealtimes per facility policy.
Accountable for and abides by the standards set forth in the Abode Care Group.
Accepts assigned duties in a cooperative manner and willingly perform other duties as assigned by appropriate personnel.
Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15.0 – 40.0 per week
