Seeking experience in the Semiconductor Industry. The Sr. Manager, Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) provides strategic leadership and oversight for ABM’s Semiconductor Sub Industry Group. This role will directly manage and develop a team of site-based Safety Managers who execute site-level safety programs and initiatives.
The Sr. Manager is accountable for ensuring consistent, high-quality execution of EH&S programs across the ABM projects, driving injury reduction, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement while aligning safety strategy with business and client objectives.
This is a Hybrid schedule with a home base in Tempe, AZ or Austin, TX.
Travel up to 50% within the US.
Qualifications:
- 7 plus years of progressive experience in Environmental, Health & Safety roles within the Semiconductor industry.
- Demonstrated experience managing and developing safety professionals or cross-functional safety leadership.
- Proven success driving injury reduction, risk mitigation, and compliance programs at scale.
- Strong background in regulatory compliance, incident investigation, and data-driven decision-making.
- Experience supporting strategic accounts or multi-site operations preferred.
- Strong people leadership and coaching capabilities.
- Executive-level communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to influence without authority and partner effectively with Operations and Clients.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate safety strategy into operational execution.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Safety Engineering, Occupational Safety & Health, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent are strongly preferred.
- Pay: $160k-180K

Responsibilities:
Leadership & People Management

- Directly oversee, coach, and develop site-based Safety Managers responsible for site-level safety execution.
- Set clear performance expectations, goals, and accountability standards for Safety Managers.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, talent development planning, and succession planning for the safety leadership team.
- Serve as the escalation point for complex safety issues, regulatory concerns, and high-risk incidents.
Safety Strategy & Program Governance
- Provide strategic direction and governance for all EH&S programs executed by Safety Managers across all Semiconductor projects.
- Ensure consistent implementation of company safety policies, standards, and best practices.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce risk and incidents.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a senior safety liaison with client EH&S leadership to align expectations, communicate performance, and address systemic risks.
- Partner with Operations leadership to integrate safety into operational planning and execution.
- Support contract renewals, client presentations, and strategic account reviews related to safety performance.
- Support Business Development as necessary to obtain new and retain current business.
Risk Management & Compliance Oversight
- Oversee project risk assessments and ensure Safety Managers are effectively identifying hazards and implementing controls.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state OSHA and other applicable regulatory requirements across all sites.
- Maintain oversight of OSHA reporting, corrective action tracking, and audit readiness.
Incident Management & Continuous Improvement
- Provide leadership and guidance on serious injury and high-potential incident investigations.
- Ensure root cause analysis and corrective actions are implemented and sustained.
- Analyze project trends to proactively address systemic risks.
Metrics, Reporting & Analytics
- Establish and monitor Semiconductor safety KPIs, dashboards, and performance benchmarks.
- Review and interpret safety data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
- Present actionable insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Proactive engagement to provide positive solutions to improve Semiconductor and Company metrics such as EMR, TRIR, Incident Rate, Near Misses, etc.
Training & Safety Culture/Emergency Preparedness
- Ensure Safety Managers deliver effective training programs aligned with regulatory and organizational requirements.
- Champion a strong, consistent safety culture across all regions and sites.
- Promote leadership engagement, accountability, and continuous learning at all organizational levels.
- Provide oversight for emergency response planning, drills, and preparedness programs. Ensure regional readiness for incidents such as natural disasters, chemical releases, or workplace violence.
