The Critical Facility Technician II (HVAC) supports the operation and maintenance of mission-critical mechanical systems within a data center environment. This role focuses on preventative maintenance, basic troubleshooting, and supporting senior technicians to ensure reliable facility operations and uptime.
Systems & Equipment Exposure- HVAC systems (AHUs, CRACs, DX units, basic chiller exposure)
- Pumps, motors, VFDs, and controls
- Building systems (BAS/BMS)
- Exposure to critical infrastructure (UPS, generators, electrical systems)

Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of HVAC experience (commercial/industrial required)
- EPA 608 Certification
- Valid, unexpired driver’s license
- High school diploma or GED
- Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read basic diagrams and follow procedures
- Familiarity with BAS/BMS or building systems
- Basic computer skills (CMMS, reporting)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Must be 18+ years of age
- Ability to work overtime and respond to emergencies as needed
- Must comply with all federal, state, and local regulations
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in data centers or industrial environments
- Journeyman track or progressing toward journeyman level
- Experience supporting preventative maintenance programs
- Exposure to large-scale HVAC or mission-critical systems
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance and basic repairs on HVAC and mechanical systems
- Assist with troubleshooting and corrective maintenance under guidance of senior technicians
- Monitor facility systems and respond to alarms and work orders
- Conduct routine walkthroughs (temperature, humidity, system status)
- Update and maintain records in CMMS
- Follow established MOPs, SOPs, and safety procedures
- Support vendor activities and maintenance tasks
- Maintain clean and safe work areas (LOTO, SDS, housekeeping)
- Escalate complex issues to senior technicians
