Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide exceptional support and care to individuals in various settings, including home, assisted living, and long-term care facilities. Responsibilities

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
• Monitor patients’ health by observing vital signs, medication adherence, and overall condition
• Support residents with meal preparation, feeding, and nutritional needs
• Utilize patient transfer methods including Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques to ensure safe mobility
• Maintain accurate care plans, document patient observations, and communicate effectively with healthcare teams
• Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
• Assist with medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and safety protocols
• Support residents during medical appointments or community outings using personal transportation assistance
• Follow infection control procedures by cleaning and sanitizing client areas regularly
• Recognize signs of dementia, Alzheimer’s, autism spectrum disorder, or other neurodevelopmental conditions to tailor care approaches accordingly

Qualifications

• Prior experience working in group homes, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home health environments preferred
• Knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, and medication administration
• Experience with dementia care, memory care, Alzheimer’s care, or hospice care is highly desirable
• Ability to assist with ADLs using proper manual handling and transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts
• Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and documentation
• Certification in CPR and First Aid required; additional certifications in HIPAA compliance or social work are a plus
• Familiarity with patient personal care assistance standards and safety protocols in long-term or community care settings
• Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks involving heavy lifting when necessary
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays is advantageous
• Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating as part of a healthcare team
