We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Occupational Therapist specializing in outpatient hand therapy to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with hand and upper extremity injuries or conditions, including those related to trauma, surgery, or chronic issues
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focused on restoring strength, dexterity, and range of motion
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) to promote independence and functional recovery
- Educate patients and their families on injury management, adaptive techniques, and injury prevention strategies
- Utilize knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology to inform therapy approaches
- Document patient progress accurately in medical records and adjust treatment plans as needed
Requirements
- Valid license or certification as an Occupational Therapist
- Prior experience in outpatient clinics or physical therapy settings focusing on hand and upper extremity rehabilitation preferred
- Ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations across different age groups
- Excellent communication skills combined with a thorough understanding of physiology and anatomy relevant to hand therapy
- Commitment to patient-centered care with a proactive approach to therapy goals and discharge planning
