Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assistparticipants with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene
- Support participants with meal preparation, feedingassistance, and household tasks
- Assistwith medications as trained and authorized
- Maintainaccuratedocumentation including daily notes, medication records, incident reports, and participant progress notes
- Encourage participant independence, choice, and community involvement
- Transport participants to appointments, activities, and community outings as needed
- Provide companionship, emotional support, and positive encouragement
- Ensure participant safety andmaintaina clean, healthy, and supportive living environment
- Follow Individual Support plans, behavioral support plans, and agency policies
- Report changes in participant behavior, health, or safety concerns promptly
- Communicate professionally with team members, supervisors, families, guardians, and healthcare professionals
- Participate in required trainings, staff meetings, and continuing education
- Assistduring emergency situations and follow emergency procedures when necessary
- Promote participant rights, dignity, confidentiality, and person-centered care practices
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities preferred
- Compassionate, patient, dependable, and team-oriented attitude
- Strong communicationand interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass background checks and required screenings
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, transfer, andassistparticipants as needed
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical caregiving duties
- Ability to respond quickly during emergency situations
Work Environment
This position works within residential homes supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Residential services are provided 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, requiring professionalism, flexibility, compassion, and dependable attendanc
