Job Summary:  

This role exists to ensure the highest quality of care is provided to our people supported.  This is achieved through the development, assessment and evaluation of support plans for the people we serve as well as through the hiring, training and supervision of direct care staff.   

Qualifications & Skills: 

Required: 

  • Two years’ experience in the Human Services field 

  • Experience working with the protection and advocacy of vulnerable populations 

  • Passion for and dedication to ABLE Inc.’s mission 

  • Experience supervising, training, evaluating, and supporting staff 

  • Ability to analyze behavior and implement active treatment programs 

  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office and related programs 

  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills 

  • Complete integrity, honesty, and confidentiality 

 

Role Responsibilities and Essential Functions: 

  • Identifies with, shares in, and aligns programs to the vision, mission, core values, and core virtues of ABLE, Inc. 

  • Facilitates a team environment including the key elements of trust, communication, and empathy. 

  • Supervises and evaluates the work performance of Direct Support Professionals ensuring each team member receives regular feedback and timely performance evaluations 

  • Ensures employee performance standards are met and initiates progressive discipline as necessary, consulting with HR when appropriate.  

  • Educates team members to ensure understanding of responsibilities and a people centered focus. Identify gaps and facilitate training as needed.  

  • Collaborates with HR to promote staff recruitment, selection, hiring, retention, and training. 

  • Evaluates staffing patterns and adjusts the schedule to ensure the needs of the people supported are met. 

  • Assists in the development of support and crisis plans to include assessment, implementation, program review and recording of plan information with accuracy.  

  • Coordinates quarterly and annual required meetings with the People Supported Team 

  • Ensures compliance of plans with general licensing requirements.  

  • Demonstrates a consistent use of behavior intervention and management that is respectful 

  • Ensures the safety of all individuals and team members. 

  • Attends and participates in house meetings. 

  • Works a minimum of 20% of time directly with people supported. 

  • Core hours vary between 6 a.m. – 7 p.m. with focus of being on-site when people supported and staff are on-site 

  • Fills open shifts as needed 

  • Participates in on-call rotation and responds to individual and program emergencies as needed 

  • Other duties as assigned 

Continuing Education & Community Involvement 

  • Maintains current certification in Positive Behavior Support (PBS), Trained Medication Administration (TMA) 

  • Attends conferences/workshops as needed to further the organizations’ abilities in impactful and new ways

  • A demonstrated high level of integrity, guided by a sound set of ethical principles

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the individual is regularly required to sit; walk throughout the building and talk and hear. Ability to walk two or three flights of stairs. The individual frequently is required to stand; and use hand to finger, handle or feel. The individual is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The individual must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and may need to assist in lifting a resident/individual in the case of an emergency. Specific correctable vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision. Depth perception and ability to adjust focus. 

Work Environment:

Work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment. Generally, a busy office area subject to frequent interruptions. The noise level is usually quiet to moderate.
