We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support and care to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and home health environments. Responsibilities
- Assist residents or clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Monitor patient health by reporting changes in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs, including meal planning and cooking in accordance with health guidelines
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring infection control standards are met
- Provide companionship and emotional support to individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, or neurodevelopmental disorders
- Assist with transfers, manual handling tasks, and other physical support activities while practicing proper body mechanics for safety
Skills
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health care environments is highly desirable
- Strong patient observation skills to identify changes in condition or behavior promptly
- Knowledge of care procedures, such as patient monitoring
- Familiarity with specialized care such as Alzheimer’s care, memory care, and/ or dementia care.
- Ability to follow detailed care plans while maintaining compliance with HIPAA privacy standards
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with healthcare teams and supporting residents’ social needs
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting, assisting with transfers using Hoyer lifts, and manual handling tasks
