What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Build Case Manager position at ABLE Associates?
Position Summary
Under the general supervision of the Program Manager, the Case Manager is responsible for providing comprehensive support services to YouthBuild participants. This includes recruitment, intake, assessment, and ongoing reassessment of students to ensure their successful participation and completion of the program.
The Case Manager conducts orientations, facilitates workshops, and provides personal, academic, and vocational counseling to help students build self-sufficiency and transition successfully into employment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct recruitment, intake, assessment, and reassessment of students entering the program.
- Lead orientation sessions to familiarize students with program expectations, resources, and learning materials.
- Develop and facilitate workshops in life skills, leadership, financial literacy, and employability to promote student growth and self-sufficiency.
- Provide personal, academic, and vocational counseling to support students in achieving their individual goals.
- Oversee and coordinate student community service projects and field trips.
- Assist with job development activities and collaborate with employers to connect students with meaningful employment opportunities.
- Participate in YouthBuild USA and Massachusetts YouthBuild Coalition events and activities.
- Support YouthBuild alumni engagement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and timely student records, case notes, and program documentation.
- Collaborate closely with YouthBuild program staff to ensure program goals and outcomes are met.
- Attend staff meetings, trainings, and professional development sessions as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Program Manager.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) required; coursework or degree in Human Services, Education, or a related field preferred.
- Experience working with youth in education, human services, or counseling settings strongly desired.
- Massachusetts teacher certification and/or experience teaching Basic Education, HiSET preparation, life skills, or job readiness training a plus.
- Ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with a diverse, multicultural youth population.
- Demonstrated initiative, creativity, and strong organizational skills in developing and implementing curricula.
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle for outreach, recruitment, and counseling activities.
