Position summary:
Maintains quality standards by performing inspections and tests as directed by Quality Manager/Supervisor. Supports day-to-day quality issue investigations, MRB investigations, and retain sample reviews. Reviews and reports on status of testing equipment on the floor and also helps monitor and test trial activities, new product commercialization’s and startups.
Qualifications required:
- Minimum of 6 months of prior inspection experience
- Quality oriented - attention to detail - organized and thorough
- Good communication skills
- Willingness to be a team player
- Ability to use caliper, micrometer and other test equipment
- Excel and Word knowledge required, Visio and QI Macro’s knowledge a plus
Qualifications desired:
- Experience in food manufacturing or food packaging a plus
- Experience with ERP or MRP systems a plus
Essential functions and responsibilities:
- Monitor floor-based measuring and testing equipment for correct usage and status and assist in maintaining active registers of devices; and notify Quality Lab Supervisor of needed repairs / replacements
- Perform daily measurements regarding product specifications and molding attributes
- Monitor and Support new product commercialization and new part number startups, collecting appropriate sample materials to be inspected and tested as directed
- Monitor key floor-based quality controls including but not limited to labeling, retain sample taking and labeling, tester data entry
- Support incoming inspection activities as directed
- Document inspection results by completing reports and logs, inputting data into a quality database
- When performing tasks, follow related work instructions. This includes product testing and data entry/records for all floor testing and lab testing activities
- Assist with training Production Quality Testers if needed
- Assist with process quality issues when needed
- Train to necessary and new test equipment/ test procedures
- Participate in various continuous improvement activities
- Report any potential food safety, legality, quality or food defense concerns to the plant manager or quality personnel
- Maintain product safety, legality, regulatory compliance, and quality systems
- Follow all documented Good Manufacturing Practices
- Must follow all company policies and procedures
