Job description:
Abitzy is a custom wholesale trade show exhibit fabrication company based in Aurora, IL, with 88,000 sq ft of in-house capabilities spanning carpentry, metal fabrication, lamination, paint finishing, and millwork. We're looking for an experienced Carpenter / Cabinet Builder to join our Shop/Fabrication team, building custom counters, casework, panels, crates, and exhibit buildouts for clients nationwide. Reports to the Shop Foreman.
Responsibilities:
Build custom counters, reception desks, casework, panels, and cabinetry from detail drawings and shop specs
Construct exhibit panels and structural buildout components typical of trade show exhibits
Construct shipping and travel crates to protect finished exhibit components
Install LED lighting and wiring channels into counters and casework
Apply laminate surfaces or coordinate with the lamination department on finished pieces
Operate woodshop machinery (table saws, panel saws, CNC routers, edge banders, sanders) safely and accurately
Measure, cut, shape, and join wood, laminate, and composite panel materials to tight tolerances
Coordinate with lamination, paint, and metal fabrication teams to ensure components integrate correctly
Inspect completed work for quality and fit before it moves to packing/shipping
Qualifications:
3-5 years experience in cabinet making, custom millwork, or trade show exhibit fabrication
Must be able to read and interpret detail drawings and shop drawings
Demonstrated proficiency with woodshop machinery and hand/power tools
CNC experience a plus
Laminating experience a plus, though not required
Trade show/exhibit build knowledge (panels, modular systems) a plus
Reliable, motivated, and detail-oriented
