Medical Billing/Coding Specialist
Job Description:
The Medical Biller/Coder Specialist is responsible for the medical billing and coding of patient medical records. This position will also assist in the collection of payments, review of insurance coverage, and other duties as assigned. The Medical Biller/Coder Specialist will be responsible for all aspects of patient billing, collections, and coding.
Essential Functions:
·Perform medical billing and coding duties.
·Assist in the collection of payments and managing AR.
·Review insurance coverage.
·Other duties as assigned.
·Perform office duties such as answering phones, faxing, filing, etc.
·Maintain accurate and complete patient records.
·Assist in the development of office policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations as well as company policies and procedures.
·Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
·High School Diploma or equivalent required.
·Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word). Knowledge of ICD-9/10 codes is a plus (preferred but not required).
·Must have excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize tasks.
·Ability to work independently and as part of a team environment. Must be able to work under pressure situations while being professional at all times.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.31 - $20.84 per hour
