Job Details With limited supervision is responsible for supervising the Central Processing area. Coordinates, oversees, and assists in all areas of the Central Processing Department to meet the needs of the institution. Reports to the Manager Central Process and Surgical Sterilization. Job Description Meets all standards of the Patient Satisfaction Initiative Criteria in order to make Abington – Jefferson Health (AJH) the hospital of choice for Patients and Employees. 2. Coordinates activities and communication between Central Processing and the Operating Room, as well as Maternity and other areas of the hospital, to assure required supply and instruments are provided accurately and in a timely manner. 3. Monitors all areas of the department to ensure quality control, resolution of minor problems, and production efficiency. 4. Assists in determining departmental supply needs, notifies manager, and/ or orders appropriately to maintain par levels and achieves this while staying within departmental budget. 5. Assists in training employees in proper procedures and instrument identification to ensure a sufficient number of appropriately skilled staff. 6. Schedules and supervises staff in each area on a daily basis to provide efficient operations. 7. Serves as a resource person in determining appropriate supply and instrument needs and substitutions in order to prevent delays in patient care. 8. Performs other duties as assigned.
