About Us
Abingdon Ambulance Service / C-Trans Medical Services is located in Far Southwestern Virginia near the Tennessee/Virginia border, with offices throughout the region. The agency provides 24/7 ambulance transportation to the residents and visitors of Southwestern Virginia and Northeastern Tennessee.
Services include:
- Emergent transportation to hospital emergency departments
- Inter-facility transport (hospital to hospital)
- Specialty Transport (Critical Care & Bariatric)
- Non-emergent discharge to home or long-term care facilities
- Scheduled appointments (Physician offices & Dialysis)
- Federally contracted EMS Disaster Response
This position is classified as open recruitment , for varying shifts & rotating schedules, with the opportunity for overtime if desired.
Responsibilities
- Respond to emergent and non-emergent calls, providing care and transportation to patients in need.
- Take pride in maintaining a safe and clean vehicle environment for patients, complete the regular mechanical checklist at the start of shifts and report any vehicle issues to the Fleet Manager as needed.
- Operate transportation equipment including ambulances and stretchers, as well as be able to use protective personal equipment and manage disposal of supplies as necessary.
- Work collaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied health and public safety personnel as well as your fellow drivers and operations team.
Required Qualifications
- State Driver's License
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Healthcare Provider BLS CPR
- Driving record in compliance with company policy
- Some work experience, preferably in healthcare or public safety
