What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Care Professional- (Part time/PRN) position at Ability Plus HCS Program?
Responsible for providing care to individuals with intellectual disabilities/autism who reside in a group home., community and day center. Assist the individuals with activities of daily living, i.e. meal preparation, administration of medication, bathing/showering assistance, house cleaning. Transportation to community activities, day habilitation sites, and medical appointments is required. Must be comfortable working with individuals in a wheelchair.. Must be a self-starter and able to work independently. You must be physically able to perform restraints and CPR. Lifting is required for this position.
Skills: Must be able to read and write. Must be comfortable using a computer. A driver's license is required and good driving record a must. A criminal background screening done prior to interview. Interviews are currently being scheduled. Previous group home experience a plus. Must be dependable.
This position will provide ongoing, weekly services to individuals who reside in the community. The services range from community outings to assistance with grocery shopping and cooking. This position would also help with coverage at the day center and the group homes when needed.
Group homes are located in Wharton and Sugar Land. We are looking for someone willing to work at all of our homes. Interviews will be held in Stafford.
