Job Summary

Ability Early Learning Center is seeking compassionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Early Childhood Educators / Childcare Teachers in Lewiston, Idaho. Duties

  • Design and implement dynamic lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards, incorporating curriculum development techniques such as Montessori methods and literacy education strategies.
  • Facilitate age-appropriate activities that promote social skills, emotional regulation, physical development, and early numeracy concepts for toddlers and preschoolers.
  • Manage classroom environments to ensure safety, positive behavior management, and effective classroom management practices that support optimal learning experiences.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about children's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones through meetings, reports, and daily updates.
  • Conduct assessments of children's developmental progress using standardized testing methods and provide tailored interventions when necessary, including early intervention strategies for children with special needs or in need of additional support.
  • Maintain compliance with mandated reporting laws by accurately documenting any concerns related to child welfare or safety issues.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, classroom activities, and best practices in childhood development instruction to foster a cohesive learning community.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience working with children in educational or childcare settings such as daycare centers, preschools, or private schools.
  • Strong knowledge of child development principles, childhood education techniques including Montessori methods, and experience teaching physical education or literacy education.
  • Familiarity with special education practices, early intervention programs, behavior management strategies, and classroom management techniques.
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional certifications related to childhood development or mandated reporting laws are preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan engaging lessons focused on math, reading readiness, social-emotional learning, and overall preschool teaching strategies.
  • Experience working with diverse learners including toddlers and children requiring specialized support such as those in preschool or daycare environments.
