We help veterans navigate and increase their VA disability benefits. Our office is on the second floor in Chula Vista, accessible only by stairs.
About the Role
This is a Case Manager Assistant position. Most of your day is on the phone: working lead lists, qualifying veterans who may be eligible for benefits assistance, answering questions, and booking consultations. Between calls you'll keep our CRM current.
Some of the veterans you’ll call haven't worked with us before, so you'll need to be comfortable explaining who we are and what we do. Our clients are spread across every U.S. time zone.
Expect to be busy, coordinating with other departments to keep files moving. The work is detail-heavy and also requires that clients feel heard and respected.
Schedule & Compensation
- $19.00/hour, part-time
- Training: Nov 2–13, 40 hours/week, fully paid (8a-4:30 No flexibility, must attend the entire duration)
- Ongoing: 20 hours/week, Monday–Friday (flexible but consistent, TBD.)
- In person, Chula Vista office
What You'll Do
- Work lead lists systematically — call, qualify, and triage, notating why each prospect is or isn't a fit
- Book qualified prospects into one-on-one consultations with a case manager
- Answer questions about our services and discuss pricing when asked (our agreements are five- to six-figure commitments)
- Handle incoming calls, voicemail, SMS, and email; respond or route to the right team member
- Log every interaction in the CRM promptly, and keep records clean enough for the whole team to work from
- Coordinate with our document specialist and other departments via Teams and Telegram
Required
- High school diploma or GED
- Professional phone manner and clear written communication
- Strong computer proficiency, including comfort working across dual monitors and digital documents
- Organized and detail-oriented; able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Comfort discussing pricing and qualifying prospective clients
- Able to work at a computer and on a headset for a full scheduled shift
- Must pass a background check and complete training
Preferred
- Client-facing administrative support, medical or legal client management, or call center experience
- VOIP headset phone systems (RingCentral)
- CRM software
- Supporting veterans, or healthcare, benefits, or legal services
- Qualifying or pitching prospective clients
Confidentiality
You'll handle protected health information and sensitive military records daily. All work happens on corporate-issued computers inside our CRM — client documents never leave that system.
