Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional/Supervisor to join our team. In this role, you will supervise DSP's who will provide essential support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their well-being and enhancing their quality of life. Your responsibilities will also include assisting with daily living activities, promoting independence, and fostering a supportive environment for the people served by Ability Building Services
Duties
- Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide care and support in a group home or assisted living setting.
- Help develop and implement service plans tailored to each individual's needs and goals
- Assist with medication administration .
- Engage people in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and personal growth.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the living environment, including cooking and cleaning tasks.
- Support people with mobility needs, including the use of assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the overall well-being of clients.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams, social workers, and family members to ensure comprehensive care.
Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in related fields such as home health, hospice care, or long-term care is preferred.
- Familiarity with Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, and working with individuals on the autism spectrum is a plus.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Physical capability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients as needed.
- A genuine passion for caregiving and a commitment to improving the lives of others.
- Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques and experience in nursing or social work is beneficial.

Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
