Direct Support Professional - Carmel, NY Pay Rate: $20.25 to $20.75 per hour
Locations: Multiple programs across Westchester County, Putnam County, and Dutchess County
Schedule: Guaranteed set fulltime schedules available including first, second, and third shifts, as well as weekends. What You Will Do
- Provided hands-on support for individuals with medical and light behavioral needs in a 14-bed medically frail group home
- Assisted adults with disabilities with daily living activities including cooking, cleaning, hygiene, dressing, mobility, and personal care
- Supported individuals with bathing, toileting, medication reminders, meal planning, budgeting, communication, and independent living skills
- Provided transportation to medical appointments, errands, community outings, and recreational activities
- Encouraged participation in volunteer opportunities, fitness programs, Special Olympics, sporting events, crafts, and other community-based activities
- Implemented positive behavior reinforcement strategies and utilized de-escalation techniques when needed
- Assisted with goal planning, progress tracking, socialization, and skill development to support individualized care plans
- Collaborated with an interdisciplinary team including nurses, behaviorists, nutritionists, and other clinical professionals to provide comprehensive care
- Maintained accurate electronic and physical documentation of daily case notes, services provided, progress, and activities
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Willingness to learn with no prior experience required. Paid training is provided
