POSITION TITLE:BEHAVIOR TECHNICIAN

 

REPORTS TO:Behavioral Services Manager

 

POSITIONS REPORTING

TO:None

 

POSITION SUMMARY:The Behavioral Supports Coordinator is primarily responsible for providing effi­cient support and assistance to the behavioral department and for assistance with assigned projects. 

 

 

  ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

1.      Assists in monitoring treatment integrity, such as the accurate implementation of the behavioral treatment plan. Through observation of the milieu, assesses the responsibilities of supervisors, assistants, and staff, relative to the individualized behavior programs.  Ensures those plans are executed appropriately, that behaviors are recorded in ABCs and/or Tally App, and provides feedback to the assigned clinician or BCBA and RPM.

 

2.      Assists in the development of formal and informal training to staff across programs as requested. Uses observations of staff interactions with the individuals we serve to assess training needs and to provide feedback to the assigned clinician regarding observed training needs.

 

3.      Assists in the implementation of formal and informal training to staff across programs as requested.

 

4.      Assists in the creation of program materials for behavior plans and teaching strategies.

 

5.      Provides clerical support to the behavioral department, including but not limited to typing, completing Program Review Committee and Human Rights Committee packets, quarterlies, and behavior plans, as well as reviewing data and graphs.

 

6.      Maintains files, active and inactive individuals served records, and electronic files relative to the department.  Tracks and coordinates necessary material to ensure completion of individual’s files.  Ensures completion of mandatory forms.  Maintains confidentiality of all private information in compliance with HIPPA and funders.

7.      Engages in multidisciplinary collaboration and participates in a working partnership across relevant internal members and external agencies to provide continuity of care. 

 

8.      Actively participates in staff, clinical, or special concerns meetings relative to individual’s needs, as needed.

 

9.      Maintains flexibility to meet urgent needs of the department, works collaboratively with behavioral services team, and maintains open communication with other departments.

 

10.  Assists on special projects as deemed necessary by supervisor and performs other related duties as assigned.

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:   High School Degree required.  Associate’s Degree or pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred.  Two (2) years of experience working with individ­uals with developmental disabilities and/or acquired brain injury with knowledge of positive behavioral supports and applied behavior analysis is preferred.

 

 

 

1.    GENERAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 

A.       Sedentary work:  Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount

   of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects,

including the human body.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.  Jobs are

sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary

criteria are met.

 

  1. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES

 

A.    Talking:  Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word.  Those activities in    which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.

 

B.     Hearing:  Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels or without correction.  Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and make fine discriminations in sound.

3.VISUAL ACUITY

 

  1. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as:  preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly of fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.

 

  1.  WORKING CONDITIONS

 

  1. The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions:  Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.

 

A. None:  The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work).
