What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Assistant position at Abilities, PLLC?
Abilities, PLLC is a pediatric therapy and early learning center, owned and operated by an Occupational Therapist with a desire to address the developmental and educational needs of children in a fun, play based, nurturing and calming environment. Abilities specializes in developmentally appropriate programs and services for young learners and their families. We offer a variety of programs for children of all abilities. Our typically developing peers consist of a preschool comprised of a two year old playgroup, and 3 and 4 year old preschool classes. At Abilities, we have a sensory gym on the premises as well as an outside play area. Our sensory gym is utilized by all programs.
Abilities is seeking a dedicated and passionate Lead Teacher for our preschool. Candidates should be bright and energetic, able to work respectfully and lovingly with children, knowledgeable about the field of early childhood education, and be able to interact respectfully with parents and staff. This individuals should support the needs of the classroom and nurture, respect and facilitate health, safety and well-being of children, supervise children at all times, and follow all health and safety and confidentiality procedures.
To promote cognitive and physical development:This candidate will plan and implement activities, make modifications and adaptations as necessary to support children's learning necessary to encourage positive self-esteem and social skills, plan and implement culturally diverse experiences, use positive guidance techniques, provide a variety of creative and expressive activities, and encourage children to be creative.
Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in ECE or related field with Certificate in Education, minimum of one year experience in an educational facility working with young children, training's in CPR/First Aid, Fire Safety, Emergency Plan, and Child Abuse Reporting.
