What Does a Float Pool DSP Do?
Float Pool DSPs provide staffing coverage across multiple Abilities, LLC homes instead of being assigned to one location. They step in to cover open shifts that remain unfilled 48 hours after schedules are published.
- Flexible Coverage: Work in 4 or more homes per week, depending on training and delegation.
- Overnight Focus: Assigned to Overnight Float Pool (10 pm–7 am).
- Full DSP Duties: Provide personal care, daily living support, medical and behavioral assistance, medication administration, documentation, and community involvement.
- Adaptability: Work with different teams and individuals, gaining broad skills and experience.
- Reliability & Growth: Critical to ensuring homes stay staffed and operations run smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Support individuals with disabilities in their homes and communities.
- Assist with daily living tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and personal care.
- Encourage independence and help individuals achieve personal goals.
- Provide behavioral and medical support as trained.
- Document daily activities and care provided.
- Administer medications after training.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming home environment.
- Drive individuals to appointments and activities as needed.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years or older.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Completion of required training (provided by Abilities, LLC).
- Must pass a criminal background check.
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
- Basic computer skills and ability to use documentation systems.
- Must be available to work every other weekend.
- Strong attendance and punctuality record.
