Job Description:
The Teacher Aide position at Abilities First, Inc. requires a highly motivated and dedicated individual who is committed to providing exceptional support to students with developmental disabilities.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with experience in early childhood and special education preferred.
Responsibilities:
Follow the classroom schedule to ensure individual student's goals are achieved
Assist in conducting individual and group activities
Keep student's workstations/areas organized
Assist in the construction of teacher-developed materials
Attend and participate in staff meetings and job skill training
Attend therapy sessions with students
Escort students to and from school buses
Perform wheelchair/equipment transporting, transferring, and lifting
Assist in the organization and arrangement of the classroom
