Abilities First is seeking a patient, energetic, and passionate IEP/Resource Coordinator to join our Educational Learning Experience program in New Windsor.
This is an administrative position that serves as the liaison between school districts special education committees, the counties and our schools to assist pre-school staff in meeting the Individual Education Plan mandates.
Schedule: Monday Friday 40 hours a week / 52 weeks per year
Salary: $60,667.00 - $61,667.00 a year
Responsibilities Will Include But Are Not Limited To
IEP Management
Managing all IEP writing, progress reporting, amendments, annual reviews, triennials and compliance
Ensuring timely delivery of all IEP services and obtaining necessary scripts for services.
Assisting Therapy Coordinator with student account set up, access, assignments in Frontline/IEP Direct, Kinney and CPSE Portal
Reviewing childrens progress notes prior to being released to families.
Conducting CPSE meetings for assigned programs.
Connecting families to community-based resources and providing advocacy services
Annual Reviews
Planning and coordinating all annual review meetings.
Maintaining schedules of annual review meetings for the districts.
Presenting annual review reports to the committee on special education
Leading all teachers and therapists in annual review procedures.
Attend Alliance meeting, & all county meetings
Evaluations
Managing and scheduling evaluations and referrals
Obtaining prior written notice, parental consent, and documents required for testing.
Writing the evaluation summary for all sections using evaluations completed.
Reviewing results of testing with parents
Submitting reports to counties, school districts and parents via mail.
Scheduling meetings with the district.
Submitting STAC forms to the district for evaluation billing and monthly billing
Requirements
M.S. Ed or Special Ed or Clinician (School Psychologist, NYS Licensed OT, PT, SLP, SW) experience working with children with developmental disabilities, IEP development and mandated service delivery models
Excellent computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office applications with the ability to collect and organize data required
The ability to work cooperatively and effectively with large numbers of professionals, superior communication skills
Valid NYS driver's license deemed acceptable by our insurance carrier
