Abilene Middle School is seeking an Assistant 8th Grade Volleyball Coach for the upcoming 2026–27 school year. The ideal candidate will support the head coach in building a competitive and positive volleyball program that reflects our athletic and activity core values of commitment, effort, and teamwork. This role is ideal for someone passionate about developing middle school student-athletes, teaching fundamentals, and creating a strong team culture.
Job Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Support the head coach in planning and leading practices, matches, and offseason skill development.
- Help develop players’ volleyball fundamentals, teamwork, communication, and game understanding.
- Model and reinforce our core values of commitment, effort, and teamwork.
- Build positive relationships with student-athletes while encouraging academic success and personal growth.
- Assist with communication to players, families, and school staff.
- Help manage equipment, uniforms, and match-day responsibilities.
- Collaborate with coaching staff to support player development within the middle school and high school volleyball program.
- Uphold all school, district, and KSHSAA policies and expectations.
