What are the responsibilities and job description for the AHS Head Volleyball Coach position at Abilene High School?
Abilene High School is seeking a Head Volleyball Coach for next year (2025-26 season).
The program returns a strong group of athletes with experience that finished their season in the sub state championship game. We are looking for a leader who will strive for continuing the growth of Abilene Volleyball. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated coach to lead a dedicated team, that has an established youth program, and help elevate the program to the next level!
Duties of the position include (but are not limited to):

Teaching and modeling the Abilene Athletic & Activity core values of commitment, effort, and teamwork.

Coaching in a transformative manner that builds strong relationships and helps players grow not only as athletes but also as people.

Teaching volleyball fundamentals, systems, and strategies essential for program success.

Preparing and implementing efficient, focused practice plans that emphasize skill development, volleyball IQ, and game preparation.

Demonstrating the ability to lead the high school program while collaborating/overseeing the middle school and youth coaches to establish a vertical aligned system for long-term player and program development.

Providing leadership and organization to the coaching staff, empowering and utilizing assistant coaches effectively.

Following all policies and guidelines set forth by the KSHSAA, USD 435, and Abilene High School.
