The Role (Service-Focused)
We are hiring an Irrigation Service Technician whose primary responsibility is service work, not installation. Installation crews are separate at ABI Systems. Service technicians may assist with installation projects only during the winter slow period, when service demand is low.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Seasonal start-ups and shut-downs
- Diagnosing and repairing common irrigation issues (heads, valves, wiring, controllers, leaks)
- Routine service and maintenance calls
- Working within structured routes, schedules, and service standards
- Clear communication with dispatch and customers
What You Will NOT Be Responsible For
- Running installation crews
- Custom system redesigns or engineering
- Selling or managing projects
- Setting pricing or scope in the field
- Managing other employees
What We’re Looking For
- Prior irrigation service experience preferred (not entry-level)
- Strong troubleshooting skills for standard service issues
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort working outdoors
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- Willing to follow established systems and expectations

Schedule & Timing
Technician work focuses primarily on service, with winter installation support when service demand is low. Spring ramp begins around March 1, and this role is intended to be productive before peak season.
