Production Lead

Summary: 

• The Exit Device- Production Lead is responsible for overseeing the assembly and packaging of various exit devices according to specifications and quality standards. This role involves managing a team, coordinating production activities, and ensuring that products are assembled and packaged accurately and efficiently.  

Responsibilities: 

• Lead and supervise a team of assemblers and packers in the production of exit devices such as Concealed Vertical Rods, Rim Latching Exit Devices and other product lines. 

• Coordinate daily production activities to meet production targets and schedules.  

• Train and mentor team members on assembly instructions, processes, and procedures. 

• Oversee the packaging process to ensure products are packaged according to specifications and quality standards.  

• Ensure proper labeling and documentation of packaged products.  

• Assemble exit devices such as Concealed Vertical Rods, Rim Latching Exit Devices and other product lines.  

• Follow detailed assembly instructions, processes and procedures.  

• Inspect and test completed product defects or assembly issues.  

• Perform electrical testing of motorized exit devices to ensure proper functionality and compliance with safety standards.  

• Track and manage inventory of parts and materials used in the assembly and packaging process. 

• Complete and maintain accurate records of assembly work, including any issues encountered and resolutions.  

• Read and Interpret tickets or work orders to determine assembly instructions and specifications.  

• Adhere to all established safety and PPE policies.  

• Ensure finished goods are within established quality control protocol. 

• Keep work areas clean and organized. 

• Communicate and collaborate effectively with other departments. 

• Report on any issues within the department, including Quality Control, maintenance, inventory, and safety. 

Must Haves:  

• Leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a team.  

• Proficiency with hand tools and power tools. 

• Capacity to troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues.  

• Ability to read and interpret assembly instructions and technical drawings.  

• Ability to follow instructions, and strong communication skills.  

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production targets.  

• Reading Comprehension: Interpret and understanding tickets/work orders. 

• Technical Skills: Familiarity with electronic components and basic wiring.  

• Bilingual Proficiency: Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish.  

• Ability to perform cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy and control.  

Education and Experience: 

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in an assembly role preferred.  

• Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment. 

• Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment.  

Physical Demands: 

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. 

• Standing for your entire shift. 

• Manual dexterity.
