What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Mentor (Volunteer) position at Aberdeen Youth Mentoring Program?
At AYMP, we are dedicated to providing a safe, engaging, and positive environment for youth in our community. Our program offers activities, support, and scheduling that help local youth learn, grow, and connect. We are looking for passionate, reliable volunteers who want to make a real difference in a young person's life!
Roles and Responsibilities
As a Volunteer Assistant, you will help create a welcoming environment for our participants. Duties may include:
- Assisting with daily activities, games, and youth program schedules.
- Helping welcome families and participants as they arrive.
- Providing positive mentorship and being an encouraging role model.
- Helping with basic setup and clean-up of program areas.
Program Hours & Commitment
Our program runs Monday through Friday from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
- We welcome volunteers who can commit to regular weekly shifts during these hours.
- Flexible scheduling is available based on your availability!
Requirements
- A genuine passion for working with youth and supporting the community.
- Strong communication skills and a reliable, positive attitude.
- Background Check: To ensure the safety of our youth, all volunteers must undergo a background check. Please note: volunteers are responsible for covering the cost of their own background check.
