Duties
- Assist with planting, harvesting, watering, and crop maintenance using farm machinery and hand tools
- Operate agricultural equipment such as tractors, forklifts, irrigation systems, and power tools safely and efficiently
- Care for livestock including feeding, watering, cleaning enclosures, and monitoring animal health
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on farm machinery and equipment to ensure optimal operation
- Support animal husbandry activities including breeding, health checks, and handling various farm animals such as horses or cattle
- Maintain safety standards by adhering to protocols during manual handling, heavy lifting, and equipment operation
- Assist with irrigation setup and management to ensure proper water distribution across fields or greenhouses
- Support general farm upkeep including fencing repairs, greenhouse maintenance, and equipment cleaning
Experience
- Prior experience working outdoors in farming or agricultural environments is highly desirable
- Supervising experience or leadership roles on farms or in agricultural settings is a plus
- Hands-on experience with farm machinery operation such as tractors, forklifts, or heavy equipment preferred
- Knowledge of animal care practices including livestock management and animal husbandry techniques
- Mechanical knowledge related to equipment repair, welding, or maintenance of farm machinery is advantageous
- Familiarity with irrigation systems, greenhouse operations, horticulture or growing techniques enhances your suitability for this role
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely while managing heavy lifting and power tool use
- Basic math skills for measurements, record keeping, or inventory management are beneficial
