Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to oversee financial operations within our construction firm. This pivotal role involves managing budgets, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting management through accurate financial planning and reporting. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in construction cost control and the use of Foundation Accounting software and have a strong understanding of construction regulations, schedules, and contracts. The Controller will play a key role in maintaining financial integrity and supporting strategic decision-making company wide.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage financial aspects of a construction firm, including budgeting, cost management, and financial reporting.
- Develop and monitor project budgets, ensuring adherence to financial goals and contractual obligations.
- Utilize construction software such as Foundation Accounting Software and other project management tools to track progress and costs.
- Ensure compliance with construction regulations.
- Prepare detailed financial reports for executive leadership and stakeholders to support strategic planning.
- Maintain accurate records of project expenditures, forecasts, and variances.
- Support project coordination efforts by providing financial insights that influence scheduling and resource distribution.

Skills
- Extensive experience with construction software including Foundation, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant tools.
- Effective time management skills to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy.

- Must be able to excel under pressure and handle multiple projects at once.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CMA a plus
- 5 years of accounting industry experience with a focus on budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting. Construction accounting experience is a plus.
- Strong proficiency in ERP/accounting systems and Microsoft Office; experience with construction management software is a plus
- Expertise in project cost management, scheduling coordination, and contract administration
- Demonstrated leadership of cross-functional teams, project forecasting, and financial planning
- Excellent communication, time management, and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
