Position Summary:
A&K Travel Group (AKTG), the parent company to Abercrombie & Kent and Crystal Cruises, is seeking a highly motivated attorney to join AKTG’s legal team as In-House Legal Counsel in Aventura, Florida. As In-House Legal Counsel, you will play a crucial role in partnering with AKTG’s business functions to support the company’s growth while appropriately managing its risk. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented attorney with a desire to handle a wide range of matters, including drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, ensuring regulatory compliance, including with data protection legislation, managing corporate processes, managing an intellectual property portfolio, responding to pre-litigation demands and disputes, managing corporate governance, and handling business acquisitions or disposals.

Essential Job Duties
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, including technology and procurement contracts, and other legal documents.
- Maintain and update the group database of precedent contracts.
- Contribute to the legal team’s overall efforts to drive the continuous improvement of internal processes and procedures by identifying efficiencies and simplifying workflows, and improving on form agreements.
- Coordinate and manage litigation with outside counsel, including efforts to maximize insurance recoveries for filed claims.
- Offer counsel on wide-ranging legal issues and advise executives within the company.
- Handle corporate governance requirements and complete filings, including working with group companies worldwide to ensure their compliance.
- Work alongside other departments across the company, including HR, Finance, Sales, Marketing, and IT.
- Advise on contract status, legal risks, and the legal liabilities associated with commercial transactions.
- Research and anticipate legal issues that could impact the group.
- Maintain the group’s extensive list of intellectual property registrations with outside counsel.
- Coordinate and manage business acquisitions and disposals with outside counsel.
- Other duties as required or assigned.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organization.
- Strong track record of drafting, negotiating, and reviewing a variety of commercial contracts.
- Cruise or travel industry experience is highly preferred. As a minimum, experience operating in a highly regulated industry.
- Exceptional organization, prioritization, problem-solving solving and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint programs.
- Law degree from a recognized university.
- 3-7 years of corporate experience in a respected large law firm and/or in-house.
- Experience in litigation required.
- The position is based in A&K USA’s office in Aventura, FL.
- Typical office setting with quiet to moderate noise levels (computers, printers, light traffic).
- The role requires regular sitting, standing, walking, bending, and reaching, as well as the ability to lift or push up to 25 pounds.
- Must have sufficient manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment (computer, phone, calculator, fax, etc.).
- Full-time position that may require additional hours beyond normal business hours.
