Key Responsibilities:
- Engine Diagnostics & Repair: Troubleshoot, service, and overhaul inboard, outboard gas, and diesel marine propulsion systems.
- System Maintenance: Maintain, install, and repair complex onboard systems, including 12V/24V electrical, marine electronics, plumbing, and fuel systems.
- Seasonal Operations: Manage seasonal vessel commissioning and decommissioning.
- Diagnostics: Utilize electronic diagnostic tools, pressure gauges, and service manuals to accurately identify root causes of equipment failure.
- Sea Trials: Conduct routine dockside testing and open-water sea trials to verify repair performance and safety.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of professional mechanical experience, preferably in a boatyard or marine setting.
- Strong foundation in internal combustion engines(2-stroke/4-stroke), fuel systems, and basic 12V electrical systems.
- Ability to lift 50lbs, climb ladders, work comfortably in confined vessel spaces, and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Ownership of standard mechanical hand tools appropriate for the trade.
