We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to lead daily warehouse operations at our facility.
Position Summary
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing all warehouse activities, including receiving, storage, inventory management, order fulfillment, and shipping. This role ensures that operations run safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping lumber and building materials
- Supervise, train, and develop warehouse staff; manage scheduling and performance reviews
- Maintain accurate inventory levels through regular cycle counts and reconciliation with the inventory management system
- Ensure all warehouse activities comply with OSHA safety standards and company safety protocols
- Coordinate with purchasing, sales, and logistics teams to meet customer delivery timelines
- Operate and oversee the safe use of forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment
- Optimize warehouse layout and workflows to maximize space utilization and operational efficiency
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, on-time delivery, and inventory turnover
- Manage vendor relationships for warehouse supplies and equipment maintenance
- Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all warehouse processes
QualificationsRequired
- 3 years of warehouse management or supervisory experience, preferably in lumber, building materials, or a related industry
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced warehouse environment
- Strong knowledge of inventory management systems and warehouse management software (WMS)
- Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire
- Solid understanding of OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and basic computer skills
- High school diploma or GED required
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field
- Experience with ERP or inventory management platforms
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
- CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) is a plus but not required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs on a regular basis
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the workday
- Comfortable working in both indoor warehouse and outdoor lumber yard environments in varying weather conditions

Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise warehouse, production, and logistics teams to ensure optimal performance in shipping, receiving, inventory control, and order fulfillment.
- Develop and implement process improvement strategies utilizing Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
- Oversee supply chain management activities including procurement, demand planning, transportation management systems (TMS), freight, dispatching, and fleet management.
- Manage budgeting processes, monitor profit & loss statements, and analyze supply chain analytics to inform strategic decisions.
- Coordinate with third-party logistics providers (3PL) and NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) partners to streamline freight operations and transportation planning.
- Utilize ERP systems such as AS400 or equivalent warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory management, order processing, and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards related to forklift operation, warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving procedures, and materials handling.
- Drive inventory control initiatives to optimize stock levels while minimizing excess or obsolete inventory.
- Oversee production planning schedules aligned with demand forecasts to meet customer expectations efficiently.
- Lead efforts in supply chain analytics to identify opportunities for cost savings, process efficiencies, and service improvements.
Experience
- Proven experience in warehouse supervision or operations management within a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Strong background in supply chain management including procurement, logistics, inventory control, and transportation planning.
- Demonstrated success in process improvement initiatives utilizing Lean methodologies or similar continuous improvement frameworks.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as AS400 or other warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Experience managing budgets, profit & loss statements, and supply chain analytics for strategic decision-making.
- Supervisory experience leading diverse teams in fast-paced environments with a focus on safety and operational excellence.
- Knowledge of freight forwarding (including NVOCC operations), 3PL partnerships, fleet management, and dispatching processes.
