Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Common Area Cleaner to maintain the cleanliness and safety of shared spaces within our facility. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all common areas such as lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and communal spaces are spotless, inviting, and well-maintained. Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of common areas including floors, hallways, lobbies, stairwells, and restrooms using appropriate cleaning tools and supplies.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and disinfecting surfaces regularly.
- Handle waste removal by emptying trash bins and recycling containers in designated areas.
- Conduct floor care procedures such as buffing, polishing, and applying protective coatings to ensure floors remain durable and visually appealing.
- Use commercial cleaning equipment effectively while adhering to safety protocols to prevent accidents or damage.
- Assist with basic maintenance tasks like replacing light bulbs or reporting repairs needed in shared spaces.
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to ensure a safe environment for all building occupants.
Experience
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or residential settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with floor care techniques including buffing and polishing is highly desirable.
- Experience with industrial cleaning equipment and supplies is a plus.
- Knowledge of facilities maintenance practices will be advantageous.
- Previous porter or facilities maintenance roles demonstrate a strong foundation for this position.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods is essential.
