Position Summary:
As a Service Technician, you will perform installations, repairs and preventative maintenance of ABEC and other equipment as directed. Tasks may include the following: Fit, assembly, and disassembly of precision components; diagnose electrical and mechanical system problems and issues; replace all required maintenance items, test components, and verify all repaired items; recommend changes to improve efficiency.
In addition to your work at customer locations, Service Technicians also assist in the manufacturing functions, such as assembling components on projects, support start up and equipment installation and assist with the training of new hires.
Responsibilities:
· Perform repair maintenance of ABEC and other equipment as directed.
· Fit and assemble components.
· Diagnose electrical and mechanical system problems and issues.
· Verify all repaired items.
· Recommend improvements to customer accounts.
· Comply with all ABEC operating and safety procedures.
· Compliance with customer’s safety SOP’s. Conduct all operations in a safe manner.
· Perform preventive maintenance on ABEC and competitor equipment.
· Replace all required maintenance items.
· Test all components.
· Comply with all local safety requirements and procedures.
· Recommend changes to improve efficiency.
· Assist in manufacturing functions as required
· Assemble components on projects in accordance with ABEC policy.
· Support start up and equipment installation as required.
· Assist with training of new hires as necessary.
· Ability to communicate with cross-functional team (Vessel Service Managers, Engineering, QA) & ASME Authorized Inspectors.
· Coordinate tool shipment & return.
· Ability to execute the fabrication scope according to blueprints and specifications.
· Represent company in a respectable way.
· Execute other tasks as assigned
· Ability to travel when required
· This position will require a minimum six-month training visit split between Springfield, MO and Bethlehem, PA. This trip can be split into two three-month sessions and can be extended to ensure proper training level has been acquired.
Requirements
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· 2 years post high school in equipment service or manufacturing craftsman.
· Knowledge or experience in electrical and mechanical equipment; familiar with ABEC equipment and services.
· Valid driver’s license
· Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. / 23 kilograms
· Typical work is in a manufacturing environment or customer’s site
· This position requires travel and could be as much as 90%.
· Required to stand for long periods of time and may involve heavy manual labor.
· You will need to be able to stand, sit, walk, bend, stoop, reach, lift, push, pull,
and carry items.
· Exposure to loud noises
· Ability to wear personal protective equipment
