Server -- Senior Living Community

POSITION SUMMARY:

• Prepare tables and take food orders, interact with residents, and ensure residents and guests have the best experience possible when dining at Abe's Garden Community.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Greet all guests and residents warmly with an appropriate greeting.
• Prepare the tables, laying out napkins and utensils, making sure the condiments are refilled, and performing all other preparation tasks.
• Stay updated on current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations, and remain notified of items the kitchen staff is running low on.
• Present menus, inform residents and guests of daily specials, suggest dishes, assist in food selection, and collect menus when ordering is finished.
• Inform guests and residents about food preparation details and ingredients, and communicate specific dietary needs or requests to the cooks.
• Maintain a proper, high quality dining experience, delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, offering desserts and drinks, removing courses, replenishing utensils, and refilling glasses.
• Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor.
• Fill in for absent team members and assist with special events as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Must be able to relate well to people and demonstrate appropriate, compassionate care for seniors.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Must be able to sit / stand for 8 hours.
• Walking, bending, light lifting up to 50 lbs.
