About the Role:
Abcott Institute is seeking a qualified and passionate Central Sterile Processing Technician Instructor to teach and mentor students enrolled in our hybrid Central Processing Technician program. This role involves both in-person instruction and virtual learning facilitation using platforms like Canvas LMS, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom. The instructor will work closely under the supervision of the Program Director to ensure students receive high-quality, engaging, and industry-aligned education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging hybrid instruction, integrating Canvas LMS, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom for lecture and lab activities.
• Design, develop, and implement weekly lesson plans, learning assessments, and hands-on laboratory skill sessions in accordance with HSPA (Healthcare Sterile Processing Association) standards.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, assignments, and progress using digital systems.
• Provide constructive feedback, timely grading, and student advising to support learning outcomes.
• Stay current with sterile processing techniques, regulations, and industry innovations.
• Demonstrate effective oral and written communication, professionalism, and adherence to Abcott Institute’s Code of Conduct.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with healthcare facilities to support student clinical placements and job opportunities.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, student interviews, and curriculum evaluations.
• Ensure safe practices and compliance with infection control standards in all instructional settings.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director.

Qualifications:

• Education: Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Certification: Current CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) or equivalent preferred.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in sterile processing.
• Technology Skills: Proficient with computers and virtual tools including Canvas LMS, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Other: Strong organizational, interpersonal, and mentoring skills. Must be able to work effectively with adult learners in a hybrid learning environment.

Work Location:

• Hybrid (On-site instruction in Southfield, MI remote teaching responsibilities)
• Candidates must reliably commute or plan to relocate prior to starting.
