What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Aluminum Fabricator / cnc technician position at Abco Glazing?
Abco Glazing is an established commercial glazing company expanding into in-house aluminum fabrication. We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Lead Aluminum Fabricator / CNC Technician to take charge of daily fabrication operations in our new shop.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating CNC equipment, fabricating architectural aluminum systems, reading shop drawings, and leading a small crew of 2–3 helpers.
This is a hands-on position, not a desk management role. You will be actively involved in fabrication while overseeing quality, efficiency, and daily production.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate, set up, and troubleshoot CNC machines, saws, milling equipment, and other aluminum fabrication machinery.
- Fabricate aluminum storefront, curtain wall, window, and door systems according to shop drawings.
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings, cut lists, and technical specifications.
- Lead, train, and supervise a small team of 2–3 fabrication helpers.
- Organize daily fabrication activities and assign work to team members.
- Ensure finished products meet dimensional, quality, and workmanship standards.
- Identify and resolve fabrication problems.
- Maintain equipment and coordinate necessary repairs.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized fabrication shop.
- Coordinate with the office team regarding production schedules and material availability.
Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
