Quality Control Supervisor for Aerospace Company

AS9100 Aerospace Quality Inspector (Faro / Hexagon CMM / Verisurf)
ABC Sheet Metal / Steeldyne Industries – Anaheim, CA

ABC Sheet Metal / Steeldyne Industries is an AS9100D-certified aerospace manufacturer seeking an experienced Quality Control Inspector for in-process and final inspection of welded, fabricated, and machined assemblies. This role requires periodical offsite visits to vendor and customer sites. A background in machining or metal is highly preferred as well as welding experience.

Compensation:
$38 – $50 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

Required Experience (Non-Negotiable):

• Aerospace manufacturing environment (AS9100)
• AWS welding inspection experience
• Experience with Faro or Hexagon CMM Arm
• Experience using Verisurf software
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• ITAR

Responsibilities:

• Perform in-process and final inspections
• Create AS9102 First Article Inspection (FAI) reports
• Generate ballooned drawings and inspection documentation
• Operate Faro / Hexagon CMM arm using Verisurf
• Use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.)
• Identify and document nonconforming conditions
• Conduct process audits and support AS9100/customer audits
• Perform supplier source inspections as required
• Assist with calibration of inspection equipment

Qualifications:

• 5 years aerospace quality inspection experience
• Experience working within an AS9100 quality system
• Associate degree, trade school, military training, or equivalent experience
• Experience with fastener installation and inspection
• GD&T experience
• Strong communication and attention to detail
• Strong computer skills, including:
• • Email and communication tools
  • Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Ability to work with CAD drawings and digital inspection data
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Preferred:

• ASQ or AWS certification

Work Environment:

• Aerospace manufacturing environment
• Hands-on inspection role using CMM arms and precision instruments
• Overtime may be required
