2nd Shift Aerospace Sheet Metal Lead / Foreman

AS9100D-certified aerospace manufacturer seeking an experienced 2nd Shift Aerospace Sheet Metal Lead / Foreman to support and oversee daily production operations in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for coordinating sheet metal fabrication activities, supporting production teams, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring production schedules are achieved.
The ideal candidate will have strong aerospace sheet metal manufacturing experience, CNC laser experience, and hands-on knowledge of First Article Inspection (FAI) processes and AS9100 requirements. Candidates must be comfortable leading production personnel while working closely with quality, engineering, welding, and manufacturing teams.
Schedule
- 2nd Shift
- Four 10-hour shifts
- Monday through Thursday
- 2:00 PM – 12:30 AM
- Overtime and Friday work may be required based on production demands
Required Experience (Non-Negotiable)
- Aerospace sheet metal manufacturing experience
- Previous lead, supervisor, or foreman experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience operating or supporting CNC laser cutting equipment
- Experience with First Article Inspection (FAI) processes and AS9102 documentation
- Experience working within an AS9100 quality system
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes
- Working knowledge of GD&T
- ITAR compliance awareness
Responsibilities
- Lead and support 2nd shift sheet metal production operations
- Supervise fabrication personnel and help maintain production schedules
- Coordinate workflow between laser cutting, forming, welding, and assembly departments
- Support setup and operation of CNC laser equipment
- Review work orders, drawings, and production priorities
- Ensure compliance with AS9100 quality standards and company procedures
- Assist with First Article Inspection (FAI) activities and production documentation
- Monitor quality, productivity, and on-time delivery performance
- Troubleshoot manufacturing and production issues on the shop floor
- Work closely with quality, engineering, and planning departments
- Train and mentor production employees on procedures and best practices
- Maintain a safe and organized manufacturing environment
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of aerospace sheet metal manufacturing experience
- Minimum 2 years in a lead, supervisor, or foreman role
- Strong background in CNC laser cutting and sheet metal fabrication
- Experience with aerospace drawings, specifications, and inspection requirements
- Familiarity with AS9102 FAI requirements and documentation
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work independently and manage shift priorities
- Strong computer skills including:
- Microsoft Office 365
- Production and manufacturing software systems
- Digital drawings and shop documentation
