ABC Pregnancy Care Center is seeking applications for the position of Executive Director. ABC is a faith-based pregnancy resource center offering a variety of services to women and young families. ABC has been serving Garden City and the surrounding Southwest Kansas area for 27 years.
The Executive Director is responsible for ensuring the effective operation of the pregnancy center, including overseeing the administration, programs, budgeting, staffing, and strategic plan of the organization. Other key duties include fundraising, marketing, media relations, and community outreach.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Be a committed Christian who demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord
- Pass a background check
- Exhibit strong commitment and dedication to the pro-life position and sexual integrity.
- Agree with and be willing to uphold the Commitment of Care and Competence, Core Values, Statement of Faith, and policies of the center
- Experience in marketing, fundraising, public relations, and management.
- Exhibit strong skill in interpersonal communication, public speaking, and writing.
- Ability to provide spiritual leadership, discipleship, encouragement and director for the staff and volunteers of ABC.
- Ability to develop and implement strategic plans and goals for ABC.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field or 5 years of equivalent experience.
Essential Functions:
I. Administration
- Make prayer an integral part of the day-to-day operation of ABC.
- Provide leadership that ensures a working environment reflecting Godly behavior.
- Ensure that all center policies are carried out, as well as coordinate with appropriate staff member(s) new policies to be approved and implemented
- Recruit, hire and discharge employees/volunteers as the need arises in conjunction with the Board of Directors.
- Conduct written evaluations of staff on a yearly basis.
- Oversee the compilation of statistical reports, accurate record keeping and monthly reporting to the board.
- Oversee a yearly calendar for the ministry and implementation of special events. Hold consistent meetings with staff and volunteers to keep them informed of client needs, staff needs and ministry progress.
- Attend all board meetings and present a monthly report.
- Coordinate between staff and the board a yearly strategic plan.
- Oversee any grant-writing opportunities that arise.
- Oversee and coordinate the maintenance and upkeep of the facility.
- Serve as the primary contact and responsible party with all appropriate affiliations such as Care Net, Heartbeat International, NIFLA, etc.
II. Development
- Establish with the Board of Directors an annual operating plan for development activities within the community.
- Evaluate effectiveness of these plans in order to define budget requirements and activities in the future.
- Report to the Board of Directors in a timely manner the monthly and annual progress, effectiveness, and efficiency of development programs conducted by ABC. Identify problems in meeting objectives and recommend solutions.
- Maintain a working knowledge of computer software programs specifically designed to facilitate accurate donor and prospect information.
- Plan, conduct, and work with a committee to execute major fundraising events and direct mail pieces and newsletters each year.
III. Financial
- Prepare an annual budget for ABC with input from staff, present an annual budget to the board for approval and manage the approved budget.
- Work with the finance committee to ensure securing of liability insurance, paying property taxes, and annual filing the IRS Form 990.
- Oversee and ensure that accurate and current financial records are kept and reported to the board monthly.
- Responsible for fundraising efforts.
IV. Public Relations
- Educate the local community, including churches, pastors, community groups, as well as the professional community about the pregnancy center ministry with the goal of obtaining support and involvement with the ministry
- Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with pastors and churches in the community
- Develop and maintain relationships with other ministries/organizations that meet client needs
- Represent the ministry and services of the pregnancy center to the community and the media
- Develop, oversee, and revise promotional materials used in presenting the pregnancy center to clients, community, and churches
- Work closely with the board of directors to promote public awareness of the ministry through advertisement and church presentations
