Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Assist with patient intake processes, including collecting medical histories and documenting vital signs using EHR systems
- Prepare examination rooms and assist providers during patient examinations and procedures
- Administer medications and injections following proper protocols and physician instructions
- Support diagnostic procedures such as X-ray imaging and other laboratory tests
- Monitor and record patient physiological data, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature
- Perform ICD coding for billing and documentation purposes
- Support patient education on treatment plans, medication usage, and health maintenance
- Manage administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, updating patient records, and verifying insurance information
- Assist in inpatient settings or Level I/II trauma centers as needed, providing support in emergency situations or specialized care units like PICU or Geriatrics
- Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of medical instruments and equipment in compliance with safety standards
Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology
- Experience working in outpatient clinics, hospital medicine, urgent care, or emergency medicine environments
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and ICD coding practices
- Ability to perform basic life support (BLS) certifications and emergency response procedures
- Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient populations including geriatrics and pediatric patients in PICU settings
- Familiarity with medical-surgical procedures, internal medicine protocols, and clinic workflows
- Experience with X-ray procedures or OR experience is a plus for supporting diagnostic imaging or surgical teams
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in high-acuity environments such as Level I Trauma Centers or Level II trauma centers
