Duties
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning, creativity, sportsmanship, and teamwork in a lively camp setting
- Manage classroom behavior effectively using positive reinforcement techniques to ensure a safe and respectful environment
- Supervise children during outdoor play, arts and crafts, sports, theater performances, and other camp activities
- Provide first aid when necessary and respond promptly to any medical or behavioral emergencies following safety protocols
- Support children with special needs or behavioral challenges by applying inclusive teaching strategies and behavior management techniques
- Collaborate with fellow staff members to coordinate daily schedules, special events, and themed activities that enhance camper engagement
- Foster positive relationships with children by offering encouragement, guidance, and Christian counseling when appropriate
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, tutoring, babysitting, or camp environments is highly desirable
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices to support diverse learning needs
- Skills in classroom management and behavior management strategies to maintain an organized and nurturing atmosphere
- Certification in first aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain prior to start) to ensure camper safety at all times
- Experience working with children with special needs or in inclusive settings is a plus
- Ability to lead sports coaching sessions or theatrical activities demonstrates versatility in engaging campers across different interests
- Strong communication skills for working effectively with children, parents, fellow staff members, and community partners
