Role Description The Climber role is a full-time, on-site position based in San Antonio, TX. This team member is responsible for safely climbing trees using appropriate equipment and techniques to perform pruning, trimming, and removal tasks according to company standards and customer specifications. Day-to-day duties include assessing tree health and structure, setting up and inspecting climbing gear, coordinating with ground crew for rigging and debris removal, and maintaining a clean and safe work area. The Climber will follow safety protocols, operate hand and power tools, communicate clearly with supervisors and customers, and complete required documentation for each job. This role also involves regular equipment maintenance checks and participation in ongoing training to improve technical and safety skills.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess skills in safe tree climbing techniques, rope and harness use, and working comfortably at heights.
- Candidates should possess skills in tree pruning, trimming, and removal, including basic understanding of tree structure and health.
- Candidates should possess skills in operating chainsaws, hand tools, and related equipment, with attention to proper care and maintenance.
- Candidates should possess skills in following safety procedures, using personal protective equipment, and identifying job site hazards.
- Candidates should possess skills in teamwork, clear communication with crew leaders and customers, and basic time management.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; prior experience in tree care, landscaping, or related outdoor work is beneficial.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, carrying, and working in varying weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record preferred; willingness to attend training and obtain relevant certifications is a plus.
