We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dietary Aide to join our compassionate healthcare team. Duties
- Assist with food preparation, portioning, and serving meals according to dietary guidelines and resident preferences
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas following food safety standards and JCAHO (Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations) regulations
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including ovens, mixers, and dishwashers, adhering to workplace safety protocols
- Support meal delivery, bussing tables, and cleaning up after service to ensure a hygienic environment
- Follow all dietary requirements for residents with special diets or medical needs, including adhering to prescribed nutritional plans
- Handle food safely by practicing proper food handling techniques and manual handling procedures for heavy lifting or moving supplies
- Document meal service activities accurately and report any concerns related to food safety or resident needs
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly preferred
- Knowledge of food production, preparation, sanitation, and serving techniques
- Familiarity with working with geriatric patients and understanding their specific dietary requirements
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and follow food safety standards including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and portion control
- Excellent customer service skills with a caring attitude towards residents and team members
- Certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) is a plus; ongoing training on workplace safety and sanitation is encouraged
